93%  "Great! - Also my first time in a hostel, and it was excellent! I did a shared room, on a weekday, for around $9USD. The bedroom and common areas are very clean. The men's shower might be considered iffy, but it worked out ok, and I'm sure it was clean for a hostel -- there was definitely hot water when I wanted it! Location is also great -- I don't think there's a closer hostel to the downtown "action" (if you could call San Miguel "active"), but it's definitely not too close. And purified...
88%  "A cab from the bus station brings travelers to the bright blue door, the well-landscaped indoor patio laden with bougainvillea, and the warm welcome at Iron House Hostel, this easy-going, ultra laid-back hostel. Our group of three got an incredible deal -- a gigantic room with two sets of bunk beds and a large living area complete with table, chairs, lounge chair, and bookcase stocked with books (mostly in English) and a little boom-box. Our "suite" included a private, two-room bath and a...

Our rooms are spacious, we have a nice full equiped kitchen, a pretty dinning room, hot water 24 hrs., a beautiful garden, we also have some table games ask at the reception, our price is very accessible." … Hostel Inn...

Great yoga, and a peaceful atmosphere." … "Beautiful place, but outside town without access to telephone or internet and without staff or owner on site much of time. Because of its remoteness would not recommend to anyone who is not in top health or who is alone." … "Casa Hostel De Allende offers travellers and seekers an intentional hostelling community in San...

I intend to rent an apartment in San Miguel next year and probably spend about eight months there. Hands down, it's one of the best cities I've ever been to. I miss it!

San Miguel de Allende is amazing. Its colonial architecture and old buildings are just a living painting, full of colors. The market and the church are the best places to visit.

San Miguel de Allende is a great colonial town, unique because of its large artist population, and galleries galore. There is a lot to see right in the city center, and amazing hot springs (La Gruta is very neat - with a cave) just outside. There are a lot of restaurants with very good food (and desserts...), and the plaza is always lively.
