We are 70km from the new International Airport Tuxtla Gutierrez (Capital of Chiapas), where there are daily connecting flights from Cancun and Mexico City.
There are 24 hour taxi and collective mini-bus services to San Cristobal. The journey takes about an hour.

San Cristobal is a very nice relaxed colonial town. It's very easy to go around, everything in a walking distance, even bus station which is only 15 mn away from center. There's a very good and famous artisanal market, a very big fuit-vegi market which is very good to enjoy, just fresh and cheap staff you can cook in MiCasa. The mayan medicine museum is very cool, good movies... "Posada Mexico is a tranquil hostel -- airy and open, with beautiful gardens/common areas. The location is good. You could walk from the bus station (but it’s not too expensive to take a cab) and it’s quite close to the center. The staff/owners are warm, welcoming, and accommodating. They have free internet that is reasonably fast and lots of books that you can borrow or exchange.... You will find a second home..."Bienvenidos! We are a fun, friendly and clean Candian-owned hostel located in the centre of beautiful San Cristobal. Both English and Spanish spoken. A bed in our co-ed dorm costs 50 pesos, a single -bed private room is 80 pesos and our double room (double-bed) is 130 pesos. Arrive with some friends and you can stay in our triple room (3 single beds) for 180 pesos. Except for the dorm, prices...  "This hostel is a super clean place with large rooms and comfy beds. Nice, friendly staff and hot water. Cheap." … "The hostel looks really nice. I stayed in a four-bed room without a window. It smelled a bit. The mattresses were fine so I slept good. The worst thing was that we had NO water for most of our stay there! NO water in the showers, but worse was NO water to flush the toillets....
