"Pension California -- here's the skinny. Each room here has anywhere from one to six beds. The more beds in a room, the cheaper the per person rate ($1 US = appx 10 pesos): 1 bed 140 pesos, 2 - 190, 3 - 250, 4 - 300, 5 - 350, 6 - 400. "Hosteria del Convento is located in the heart of downtown La Paz, just down the street from its sister-company, Pension California. Located across the street from a busy shopping center, a thriving market, and two blocks from the beach, this place is in a prime location for the all-around traveler. The hostel is a 5 minute walk from the bus station and a good 10 minutes from the marina (where you could possibly catch a ride working on someone's sailboat).
