Luxembourg, Luxembourg Hostels

Luxembourg City is the capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in the heart of Western Europe and home to several institutions of the European Union.

The city consists of 24 quarters and if you are looking for a Luxembourg hostel, there are several options. It is most convenient to stay in the old city center (Ville-Haute) since this is where most sights are located, but all the surrounding quarters are also fine. Two of particular note are Bonnevoie, which is one of the historic districts with lots of interesting buildings and Kirchberg, a modern quarter home to several European institutions.

Luxembourg airport is only 6 kilometers outside of the city and can easily be reached by bus. It is a quite small airport with few connections so it will probably be more convenient for you to take the train when traveling to and from the city. There are several connections to the larger cities in Germany and France.

You can easily get around the city from your Luxembourg hostel using the comprehensive public transport system. In the old city center however, it is best to walk. For your convenience, you can access free wireless internet throughout the old city center.

While you are in Luxembourg, we recommend visiting the old city center which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Also, visit the Grand Ducal Palace and explore the fortifications. Admire the modern architecture in the Kirchberg quarter and visit the impressive Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial.

I found Luxembourg City to be beautiful. I was only there for one day and as that might be enough, I could have stayed another day. There is a beautiful view. I would most definitely go back to Luxembourg City. — Emily
