Kobe Hostels

"Best Hostel so far - We're doing a two-week trip of Japan and came to stay one night here in Kobe. The place was great! Very nice, family neighborhood, not difficult to find if you follow the directions. Took us less than ten minutes with luggage to reach it. Place is very clean and open, felt like we were guests at a friend's house not at a hostel. Has free internet, you can use their kitchen to cook, put things in fridge, etc. Bathroom, shower, sink area were all very clean. "No hassle, and it's quiet. However, it's actually located in one of Kobe's suburbs, Tarumi ward, about 20 minutes by train (no worries for JRPass holder though) and still 20 minutes by foot from the train station. I stayed here a couple of nights in early June 2005. My dissatisfaction was that I initially booked through this Web site a "two-bed mixed room." Upon check-in I was given the six-bed dorm.
