"Clean, not super close to Hakata - I stayed here between touring southern Kyushu and leaving via Fukuoka airport for Osaka. This hostel was well located for me to get to the airport (about an eight-minute walk to the closest metro stop, which is only one stop away from the airport), however not so well located if you're sightseeing in Fukuoka -- it is a good fifteen-minute walk from Hakata station. "Our place used to be a hotel,and still like a very quiet hotel.We just turned some regular rooms into small dormitory rooms.Good place for someone who wants calm and private; there is no big common room for gathering. "This is a gem of a place - It's a Ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn as opposed to a hostel. Accommodation is in private rooms in which there are futons on tatami mats to sleep on -- firm but very comfortable and good for your back! The old rustic atmosphere is what adds to the charm here. The owners are extremely friendly and pleasant, and the place is extremely clean.
