There are many thermal spas in this region, generally with sulphurous, sodio-bromine-iodic and sodio-iodic springs including Salsomaggiore, in the Parma Apennines, famous for its mud therapy and hydromassage; nearby Tabiano Terme, specializing in the treatment of the respiratory system and metabolism disorders, Porretta Terme, in the upper Reno valley. It is upon the culture of welcome and the quality of given services that the hospitality of the new Youth Hostel in Parma, run by Domus Parma – A.I.G. (Italian Youth Hostels Association) is based on.
Inaugurated in Spring of 2007, the new Youth Hostel of Parma is nearby exit n. 6 of the north ring road, just 1.8 km from the railway station and 4.5 km from the airport and in front of the biggest mall in town.
