Padang Padang is a lovely little town in the southwest of Bali Island in Indonesia. It is located on the Bukit, a small peninsula on the south of the island. This place is best known by the nice and small beach with natural small caves carved in the surrounding rocks and the good waves for surfing -- get some advice from the local people, as there is a small area that should only be for very experienced surfers, but great part of the beach is excellent for beginners or intermediate surfers.
Once you are in Padang Padang, you should consider going to Uluwatu to see one of the most emblematic temples in Bali -- Uluwatu temple, on the top of a cliff with amazing views during sunset. When you go to the temple, beware of the monkeys that may try to steal things you are carrying. Nearby, just north of Padang Padang, there is another small town, called Jimbaran, with one of the best restaurants in the area, with small tables on the sand near the sea; fresh fish and seafood are the recommended dishes in this place.
In Padang Padang you have some accommodation offers from luxury bungalows in front of the beach to inexpensive Padang Padang hostels with breakfast included. To get to the town you have to take a taxi, a moto taxi -- ojek -- or rent a car or a motorbike. If you are traveling with more people, the most inexpensive option should be the taxi.
