"Wonderful hostel, definitely would recomend it. - This is the third place I've stayed in at Hong Kong. However the Ah SHan Hostel is by far my favorite. The hostel is family owned and run, and the people are incredibly kind and friendly, even if you can't always understand each other. They are willing to help with whatever you need. I stayed in a 4 bed mixed dorm and one of the family members comes in every day to change towels and trash. "For the price and location the place is excellent value for money, for what is essentially a safe place to stay without the frills and ridiculous hotel prices there isn't much you could really ask for. One thing I loved is that it is on the third floor which basically means it is the first stop on the elevator and if you cant be bothered waiting there is always the crafty side exit with the stairs therefore you can get in and out quickly unlike most of the other hostels that seem to be on higher floors. Showers have hot water 24/7 and the staff will do your laundry for a small fee. The location is excellent, close to the ferries, the metro, Kowloon Park and some of the tourist traps. "Worst - the worst hostel in hong kong ive known. the staffs and the owners are uncivilized. they dont know how to respect their clients. they are not consistent with the rates they posted in the internet against on their actual rates. You will just know it when you are already in their reception area bringing your booking confirmation from them. I think they dont want clients and tourists to stay in their hostel. the place is not really safe, plus staffs dont know how to respect their clients.
