 "We had a hard time searching for San Remo Hostel. It is very close to the train station though -- just a few streets down. We had a pretty sweet deal. They had no more dorms left, so we got to stay in a private room that had air conditioning (very useful because it was extremely hot in Athens).
The bathrooms are extremely small and have an open shower, as you can see in the picture. There... (Monastiraki)    "Great location, economical, safe place to stay in downtown Athens - The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location is on a busy street and it can be very noisy. Rooms on the back side are quiet and preferred. The breakfast was excellent, including eggs and fruit. Have earplugs in case you are on the Athenis Street side. The entrance to the Acropolis, Hadrian's Gate, and Temple of Olympian are all five minutes away.
The hostel is owned by an Australian family, so language isn't a problem (if you speak English, that is). Bedsheets, pillow case, towels, and breakfast are all complimentary... "Contrary to the impression that one might get from their website, this place is really nice and very well run. The location is amazing -- turn into the street from the main road and you'll see the Acropolis looming at the other end, with about a ten minute walk to the entrance.
The rooms are all very clean and neat; towels and bedding are provided. There's air conditioning in every... "Talk about a room with a view! The Pella Inn hostel has the most amazing view of the Acropolis that you could ask for. And at night, when it is all lit up, it's simply breathtaking.
Pella's staff are super friendly, more than happy to give you directions to anywhere you could want to go. They even have little maps that they'll markup with the best route to take.
