Frankfurt Travel Tips & Suggestions

Frankfurt isn't a tourist hub at all but the people are very nice and it really appeals to Americans. It is the most modern city in Europe and I guess that is why the people there say that their city is "Manhattan"!

There are tons of beautiful castles and historic attractions to visit, but overall the city is not a great tourist magnet. The people are exceptionally nice and most speak English. Be sure to visit Bad Homburg.

If you are flying RyanAir from the Frankfurt-Hahn airport take note; this airport is NOT in Frankfurt. The Hahn airport is two hours west. You must take a bus from Frankfurt to get there which is about €13.

LanguageAlliance Stay & Learn Residence (see above) doesn't have free internet anymore, but it's really cheap (~ 75 cents/hr). There are some museums in Frankfurt, but this really isn't a place that appeals to tourists. If you can make it for the Germany Ironman though, the bike race stops in Frankfurt and is a lot of fun.

There isn't much to do in this town for tourists, but the one thing you shouldn't miss is the "Nutelleria"... a store that sells nothing but Nutella. Go figure.
