"A very comfortable hostel with clean and spacious rooms (though on some the doors are missing), a very cosy communal area and a fully equipped kitchen. Unfortunately there is no "non smoking area". Nevertheless the hostel has a very laid back feeling, a great place to stay. Nuremberg itself is surprisingly beautiful, I will defnately go back, and of course I will stay in this friendly hostel then. "This is hostel is more than awful ... it's just a joke. - I booked this hostel to visit nuremberg with my friends. They all came from different parts in Germany, so we were lucky to get together for a weekend. But the weekend started with us waiting for the owner of the hostel to let us in. No one opened. We dialed the number, which was on the wall. No one answered. It took us about 4 hours to reach someone. "A1 Hostel Nürnberg Messe (or the A1 Wohnheime, as the sign on the outside says) is a decent hostel for people whose primary concern is price and who need very few amenities or luxuries. The Location A1 is located outside city center, but within five minutes' walk of the U1 Messe subway station with a direct route to the train station and the old town. "This place was great. It's built in/next to a castle much of the building seemed to be preserved as much as possible. The hostel was at the very northern most part of the inner city and was a little hard to get to by Strassenbahn (mainly because the line that went nearest to the hostel wasn't the one we were supposed to take). The first thing you notice are the two huge front doors. When you step in you see giant beams that comprise the ceiling. Definitely a cool place.
