House L.A. - City Hostel  "One could hardly call House L.A. a hostel -- more like a cosy bed and breakfast at a fabulous price. Nestled in the small town of Fussen, House L.A. is a great find. The owner is very friendly and showed us to our room which had gorgeous views of the Alps. The beds are comfortable with down comforters and towels are provided. The room and bathroom are spotless and very well decorated. It´s not really a great hostel to meet people as there is no common room, but we ended up making some... HI - Füssen Hostel  "Jugendherberge Füssen Youth Hostel is what you can call a family hostel! Upon entering you will certainly find lots of children and a ping pong table with plenty of amusing teenagers. Bavarian HI hostels aim at hosting families and school groups, and here they will certainly keep you company most of the time since it is not a very big hostel. Be prepared for eventual unexpected noise -- the hostel's 11 p.m. curfew is not always obeyed. The Fuessen hostel is the only hostel close to the... We ate the best crispy chicken ever there -- and it's cheap as all these kind of places are. Comment by Scott from Canada Füssen is an amazing place with unmatched beauty. Everyone knows about Schloss Neuschwanstein, which is overly touristy but still a must-see, but I found there was a lot more to see than just that. Schloss Hohenschwangau is actually much more interesting on the inside (it was actually lived in and is chalk full of artifacts) and much less crowded, so don't skip it. There was one particular restaurant here that really stands out in my mind, and I highly recommend. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name. The best I can do is to say that it was just to the left of a drug store, on the south side of a street, east of the traffic circle on either Kemptener Strasse or Ritterstrasse (I think). It's worth hunting for. It has a traditional appearance on the outside, with true Bavarian atmosphere with traditional food, the kind of place where you can order a whole leg of pork with dumplings and a tall glass of wheat beer.
