Freudenstadt is a small German city in Baden-Württemberg on the edge of the Black Forest. It is a climatic health resort of international renown and famous as Germany’s largest marketplace.

Freudenstadt consists of 10 boroughs and if you are looking for a hostel in Freudenstadt, there are several options. The old city center consists of the two boroughs Christophstal and Zwieselberg which are the geographical heart of the city and include most major attractions. They are surrounded by the other boroughs which are acceptably close to the city center. If you are on a budget, it might be better to look for a Freudenstadt hostel in one of these since the old city center, though the most convenient, is also the most expensive area.

The closest airport is Stuttgart Airport which can easily be accessed by train. It is more likely that you will be arriving by train; there are several connections to Stuttgart and other major cities. Getting around the city from your Freudenstadt hostel can be a bit challenging since buses do not run very frequently.

Explore the famous market place with the adjacent arcades, see the city hall and the Gothic church. If you have some extra time, take a tour to visit the picturesque Black Forest and do some hiking.
