Les Rousses Hostels

Les Rousses is a small four-season resort in the French Jura. It is mainly a family orientated ski resort with downhill and cross country skiing facilities. If you are looking for a crazy night life after spending the day of famous slopes and you aren't yet ready to return to your hostel, you will probably end up frustrated in Les Rousses. But if you like to immerse yourself in the local culture, you will have a good time there, with authentic food to be tasted after a long day on the tacks in the middle of the Jura forests.

In spring, summer and fall, hikers will enjoy the deep forests and scenic mountains with flowers, foraging mushrooms. There is also a good selection of other sports available. You can also learn about the traditions of the region. Among the traditional attractions, a visit of one of the cheese factories is not to be missed, and the tasting at the end will leave in your mouth some memories for years, even if you are not a cheese fan. Like in many places in France, there is only a limited selection of hostels in Les Rousses, and you might have to stay in a slightly out of the village attraction place. Good shoes or a bike might then be the only way to get to civilization, including food and drinks. So do your home works and arrive prepared whichever Les Rousses hostel you end up choosing.

It is relatively easy to reach the place by train /bus, but once there, the public transportation availability is very limited, in particular off season.
