Nîmes Hostels

Nîmes (pronounced "neem") is a distinctly French town which has managed to preserve many ancient Roman structures, creating a unique blend of cafe culture and ancient history. Nîmes is very well connected and is located in the south of France, with many high speed trains connecting it to Paris and the French Riviera.

You will be hard pressed to find a part of the city you do not like. As such when you book your hostel in Nimes, you will most likely find the surrounding area both pleasant and be cheerful with the local shops. If you are looking to be right in the center of the action, look to book a hostel on or near Boulevard Victor Hugo, which connects the Amphitheater with the Roman Forum and leads to the watch tower.

If you are looking to get out of the city there are some good day trips out to Pont du Gard and Avignon. Many Nimes hostels will run tours, or you can hop a bus or train (no trains to Pont du Gard) and take a self guided tour.

Be careful as the city does get quite hot during the summer. Although it does cool at night, you may find yourself wanting to take a break mid day to escape the heat.
