Torshavn Hostels

"The Bladypi guest house advertises itself as being in the heart of Torshavn, and this is true. It is in a great location in the middle of the town, unlike the YHA which is on the outskirts of the suburbs on a hill. Bladypi is fairly easy to find if you are coming by bus from the airport or walking up from the ferry terminal. A major gripe is that if you have come by ferry which arrives at 0600 (6 am), you will have ages to wait until the owner deigns to come down and open up the reception area. "The Torshavn youth hostel was rebuilt in 1999 and it is a modern affair with modern appliances in the kitchen and clean bedding. There is a bank of lockers but they are rather small. Each dorm is rather small and has 3-4 bunkbeds, but security is good for each room. Við Oyggjarvegin is high up on the hill above Torshavn. The view is great but getting up and down from there can be a little tedious.
