Tallinn Hostels

This is a complete list of all known hostels in Tallinn. If you know of a Tallinn hostel that isn't listed here, please use the "Add a New Hostel" link at the bottom of the page.
"Tallinn Backpackers is also called Old Town Backpackers and is ideally located in the old town. It is a rather unique hostel with quirky additions. The greatest draw-card has to be the gorgeous free sauna and big screen to watch one of the many movies they have. This is ideal in the cold winter...
"In a town without many options, this hostel is not bad. The hostel is located in Tallin's new town which basically means that it's in an area with lot of soviet block apartment bulidings. The hostel is on the bottom floor of one of them and is easily accesible using the bus system (about 20...
"Vana Tom (formerly known as the Old Barn Hostel) is a wonderful hostel in a wonderful town. The owners are friendly and the hostel is everything that a hostel should be – cheap, clean and in an excellent location. Coming by ferry or by air it can be confusing getting into the centre of town...
"It may be a Hostel With No Name, but it has loads of character. This converted apartment will probably remind you of a sixties hang-out joint with psychedelic, tie-dye-style posters on the walls; a large Turkish water-pipe in the corner for general use; and various musical instruments like bongo...
"I stayed in this hostel during Easter 2005. It has an absolutely friendly staff, it's newly refurbished, very nicely decorated and right in the old town. Great value for the money!! Highly recommended!" … "This is a really nice hostel. It feels more like a guest house than a hostel, and had...
"Super hostel with a perfect location! You can walk to the city center! It is also a cheap hostel, but it is nice and friendly." … "The location is great, the staff are friendly but it is kind of weird. The room was a bit cold in the night and there was too much noise sometimes because some...
"Wouldn't go there again - staff speaks absolutely no english, and they are no help whatsoever with any sort of info. kitchen is of no use, unless you like living off microwave food. beds are hard as floor. at least it's clean. quite a waste considering its good location." … "Don't go to...
"I arrived to be greeted by a large fat male. I was offended by his huge obese figure however I thought I would stay out of respect to the people of the country. My choice was to haunt me. Once I managed to unpack and settle down for breakfast I was confronted by the manager who screamed at me...
Our Hostel has 3 rooms with 8 beds: - 1 loft for 2 (for walk in only) - 1 twin/double room - 1 dorm with 4 beds Location at Tallinn's Old Town but still not very busy street, Uus street 33, Tallinn, Estonia. A 19th century small house, close to town hall square (500m) and to the ferry harbour...
Kaupmehe 8 Hostel is located 7 minutes walking distance from the medieval Old Town of Tallinn and 7 minutes walking distance from the Bus Station. Our hostel offers a perfect budget accommodation for students, backpackers and leisure tourists visiting Tallinn. We have comfortable and...
Tallinn Backpackers is for those with true backpacker’s spirit: easy going and THE place in town where you can meet other travellers and have lots of fun. Besides that we are located just around the corner from the Town Hall Square, more central you can't be. All the facilities are there,...
Our hostel is right on the main street and perfect for those who want a private room but with a travellers atmosphere. Viru Backpackers is the silent baby brother of Tallinn Backpackers, so if you want more action, you can always come around to the 'big brother' at Olevimägi 11 to watch movies or...
"Located right in the heart of old town, Hostal Al Expr -- a brand new hostel -- is small, but the location is unbeatable. Of course, you pay for it in your dorm bed fee, but if you like the convenience of coming back in the middle of the afternoon to pick up something you've forgotten, then this...
"A decent hostel with an excellent location, albeit a bit overpriced for Eastern Europe (at 17 euros a night in August 2005). They only have one shower, though, which can leave you waiting, and the bread at breakfast was a little moldy." … "This hostel is above Tallinn's LOUDEST gay club,...
"Hmmm... This hostel was the cheapest I could find, but for a reason. A fair distance out of town meant there was no popping back for that forgotten camera. There was no kitchen, and I slept on an uncomfortable and narrow sofa-bed. If sleep and hot water is all you're after, this place is for...
A Hostelling International (HI) Hostel … Ristiku str. 8

Tallinn Travel Tips & Suggestions

Tallinn is a great city. I found the mixture of Russian and Estonian culture very interesting. The city is a bargain for Westerners. The Estonians and Russians were very helpful and friendly. It is a safe city. Westerners don't need a visa to travel there!
