It is a bit of a walk from the bus and train station (about 20 minutes), but is well worth lugging your heavy pack a few extra meters.
If you are looking for a small, intimate, bed and breakfast type atmosphere, then look elsewhere. This place rivals college dorm style living and is quite massive. The staff is very friendly (though not always extremely knowledgeable about the area but whatever), the rooms are clean, the shower and bathroom facilities clean, private, and in good working condition. They use a little fingerprint security system instead of a key, so no keeping up with keys, plus it feels very secure. The rooms are what you'd expect, no surprises there, but for 16...![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "The Bristol Backpackers has a homey atmosphere. As soon as you walk in you are warmly greeted by the Antipodean staff and you will see a sprawling group of travelers watching TV or hanging out in the lounge. Just as well it is friendly, though, because some of the décor could do with a face-lift. However they have obviously realised this and are in the midst of doing renovations. Walls are being knocked out here and there so for the next few months do be patient and come expecting a little...
