"The Oxford Youth Hostel is well located right next to the train station and only a few minutes from the bus stop, so it's not far to carry your over laden backpack. It's also only about five minutes' walk from the city centre. It is a big YHA and you need a card to stay or you can buy one when you arrive. But it must be one of the most friendly, warm environments of all the YHAs that we have seen. The staff are a mix of Aussies and English and extremely friendly. It seems the longer term...
"The Oxford Backpackers is not our ideal in hostel living. The facilities are good with internet, a TV, video library, a bar and cafe, and colourful murals on all the walls. And the location is superb -- just a few minutes walk from both the train and bus stops and about five minutes from the centre of town. You couldn't get much better. However when we first arrived, there was a huge group of people smoking in the lounge and having bowls of soggy cornflakes even though it was about...
"This hostel is awesome!! Club Thirst downstairs is a great place... and Rob and Greg are both great!! Rob is hot!" … "Wonderful hostel with great manager! - Central Backpackers was definitely the best hostel I experienced in England. The price was not bad, but the real plus was the feel of the place. It isn't big -- probably fifty beds, and it is very easy to meet people there. The manager Mick goes out of his way to facilitate that. Great time -- if I didn't have a train ticket already...

Our beds were very comfortable and the huge wood burning stove indispensable on a cold February night. The converted barn has real atmosphere, and the views over the vale of the White Horse are fantastic. They also have two tipis in their campsite (not tempted in February though)." … High above the beautiful Vale of White Horse, The Court Hill Centre offers comfortable accommodation...

Oxford is the best place to visit. If you go down along the river there is a beautiful park to sit and have lunch or relax. The Virgin store in town allows you to email for friends for a cheap rate also. Going rowing in the river is also a fun time.
