"HI - Odense City Hostel - Danhostel Odense City is right next to the central railway station and easy to find when you arrive by train. The reception seems to double as an ice-cream shop part of the time, so if you think you've walked into the wrong place, just ask at the counter. Odense is a pretty little city with very friendly Danes. They all speak English and are happy to do so, unlike some other places I've visited. The Hans Christian Anderson museum is pretty interesting. You won't learn much about the fairy tales, but you'll get a feel for the man himself. He was pretty amazing! The streets of Odense are beautifully maintained. Watch out for bikes, there are thousands! Walk or bike alongside the river in summertime, it's beautiful! In August Odense hosts the 'Odense International Film Festival'. Most films are either in English, or have subtitles. And it's FREE! In a nutshell, I found Odense well worth the visit.
