Odense Hostels

Odense is a city on the island of Funen, which is part of Denmark. It is the 3rd largest city in the country (home to about 165,000 citizens), and a common place for travelers and backpackers traveling Scandinavia to visit. It is an old city (over 1,000 years), with a vibrant nightlife and a rich cultural heritage.

Odense is served by its own airport (Odense Airport) as well as many other forms of transport, including buses and trains. The trip from Copenhagen is about 2 hours with a train. The city central itself is compact, and best traveled by foot. There is a very interesting transport option in the city however, and that is the river boats. It is a highly recommended experience to try at least once. There are also local buses available if you wish to head out further from the city center.

While visiting an Odense hostel, there are many interesting things to see. The cultural history is well experienced by visiting the many museums the city has to offer. The main attraction is probably the Hans Christian Andersen House, which is dedicated to the great writer. The Odense Zoo is also a common place to visit (and can be reached with a river boat).
