Norris Point is situated on Bonne Bay in the southern regions of the Gros Morne National Park. Driving in over the spectacular mountains and down into the bay, you will find the Photographer's Lookout which is amazing for taking photos. Most of the town is situated along one long road that extends down to the harbour. Scattered throughout the town you will find many local arts and crafts shops containing some beautiful works. The town also has several convenience stores and supermarkets along the main street too that should be within walking distance from your Norris Point hostel.
Towards the end of the town you will reach the dock and the ferry terminal. There is a ferry that runs three times daily from Norris Point over the Bonne Bay to Woody Point. Woody Point is near the Discovery Center for the Gros Morne National Park and contains many exhibits on the fauna and history of the land. You can also obtain park passes here that give you entry into the National Park for some of the most exceptional hiking and scenery in Canada. At the ferry terminal you will also find the Marine Station Aquarium and some companies that run boating and kayaking tours out of the area.
Hostels in Norris Point towards the top of the hill as you enter the town. However, they are not far from any of the amenities including the local health care center, which is one of the only ones in the region. Anything you require is within walking distance of the hostels, and this is the perfect location from which to explore the amazing Gros Morne National Park.
