The children play in the narrow cobblestone streets and the local residents recognize you after you've passed the streets a couple of times.

After arriving (hot and tired) at the Veliko Turnovo train station and navigating the large hill up to the center of town, there was no better sight than the friendly face of the hostel’s owner, Gray (or Graham, if you will) coming to pick us up from the tourist... "Nomads Hostel is a great little hostel in a house on an historic street in the centre of Veliko Tarnovo. Their motto is "Come as a Guest, Leave as a Friend" and we really feel like that is how it happened for us. The atmosphere is homey and very welcoming.
