"Historic Centre Hostel is an odd hostel run by an older, eccentric English man who has lived in Brazil for years but doesn't speak a word of Portuguese (but his staff is bilingual). "Pleasant trip - I stayed with my friends at Casa do Rio this august, during the Festival da Pinga in Paraty. Nice rooms, good location, friendly staff, and tasty breakfast. I totally recommend going to this place. The only problem is that they should have more people of the staff working on the check-out hour, especially on a busy weekend like that.
