Shepparton Hostels

"I firmly believe that when travelling for real, to learn and experience, you need to see all the places a country wants you to see as well as those they don't. Shepparton is a good example of the latter, but with a great deal of hidden charm. The hostel was nice, clean and friendly, and I loved it because the people staying there aren't your typical, romantic backpackers, but those who stay off the beaten track and are here for the experience, not the photos with kangaroos or the fake boomerang souvenirs! "Good and Bad - You're looking for work right? That's the only reason to come here. Great vibe! It's super fun because it's more like a giant homeshare then a hostel. But that also means that it can get a bit messy. Workers beware! There are a few regular contractors who come in and offer cash-in-hand jobs. Only take these jobs if you are desperate for money. It's illegal work so they can't sign your second holiday visa paper. Also there are a couple who got reputations for harassing the girls and making them uncomfortable. Finding work can...  more »
