Mount Buffalo is an amazing national park within the Great Dividing Range and within an hour's drive of the other mountains of the Alpine National Park. Mount Buffalo is a national park that offers a different adventure every season. During the winter, you can enjoy the many cross-country trails or go tobogganing. During the summer, escape the heat and take a dip in the lake. And any month of the year, you can go bushwalking on one of the many trails that cover the mountain from interpretive trails about the history of the mountain and the indigenous people or a walk up to the horn at the peak of the mountain.

Mount Buffalo is also a nice area to base yourself to explore the surrounding towns. Bright is a gorgeous, country town that is amazing to see in the autumn or you can take a trip out to the gold town of Beechworth. And if you like wine or cheese, take a drive out to Myrtleford, where you get the best of both of these. Whatever your choice, you can't miss this beautiful area of Victoria.

Mount Buffalo hostels are in the national parks, with all the scenery you could ever need right on your doorstep. Just remember to take all the food you could need, as it is a long way to go to the bottom of the mountain to go to a shop.
