Foster Hostels

Foster is the largest town, and the town with the closest hostels to the gateway of the Wilsons Promontory National Park in the southeastern region of Victoria. The Prom, as the locals call it, has some of the most diverse and spectacular scenery within the area, with white-sand beaches; emus, kangaroos, and wombats wandering around the grassy plains; and spectacular views. There is everything from short hikes to multiple day hikes within the park and you can get all of the information about activities and hikes within the park from the visitor center. It is advisable that if you want to explore the areas around Foster that and into the National Park that the area is far more accessible with a car, however some Foster hostels can arrange transport into the park for you for a fee.

Also out of Foster and snuggled into the Strezlecki Ranges is the Agnes Falls Scenic Reserve, which is home the largest single-span waterfall in Victoria and some of the spectacular blue gum trees that Australia is famous for. You can get here out of Toora, which is a town nearby to Foster.

Hostels in Foster are scattered. Some Foster hostels are quite central and others are a fair walk out of the town center. Make sure you read reviews and check locations of hostels if this is an issue for you. You should be able to find all amenities you might require here in the Foster town center.
