"Fab hostel, one of the best ever! - Fantastic hostel! Stayed on beautiful huts on the beach. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Great craic at night time! One of my best memories of australia. "Very nice - This one was great, if you want to chill out and so, because it's located in the less busy part of the island and so it's very quiet, just as the owner." … "For a start, the rooms are not cleaned every day! and the washing machines are one hundred years old! I spent two nights at this hostel in a double room, as the other hostel I wanted to stay at was full for the first two nights i was on the island. The room was clean, a bit smelly though! "If this is all your budget will allow, then only do a day trip! - Worst hostel I have ever stayed in! Room smelt so bad it made us sick and we ended up leaving after one night as we just could not handle it. The enamel in the shower was chipped so there was rusting on the base of the shower. Everything is extra too -- from sheets and blankets, to a lockable locker which is not even in the room! We have several issues with the friendliness of staff and discussed this with the Manager. The only upside is the $6 meal (spag bog when we stayed)...  more »

"Amazing - This was by far the best place I stayed in Australia. The hosts were exceptional as was the hostel itself, which is actually more of a B&B than a hostel. Location is great -- just a few minutes' walk from Arcadia itself. Clean and friendly. "I can't believe that Travellers is going to be knocked down! I am so upset that I will never be able to revisit one of my favorite places in Oz! "I really enjoyed my stay here. The pool area was beautiful, the bar was nice. I liked my room, it wasn't the Hilton but it had great shower pressure and reading the graffiti on the bunks was enjoyable. I just laid by the pool all day and Magnetic Island is amazing!" … "Very decent - The 8 bed dorm was definitely better then most i'v been to, and surprisingly clean.
