"This hostel is tops. It has changed its name to Reefers by the Beach, and is under new management, appparently. They get you a job (bloody tomatoes) but it pays well, and they bus you out to the farm. I really enjoyed my time here and made heaps of moolah. The rooms are clean, and the place really hums along. "Monarch Hostel is a "working backpacker", which means that this hostel provides you a job. Most of the positions available are as tomatoe piker. This is team contract: you pick tomatoes with 12 others guys, your wages depend on the amount of tomatoes you have picked with your team, so don't be lazy, don't work with lazy people. Each full bin gives your team $80 before tax (not $85).
