The new Göreme tour is very nice and good company.
Göreme is a stunning place, and no matter in which direction you walk, you will encounter great sights. You can easily walk to the Open Air Museum and take local buses to the main underground cities. You will be pressured into booking a tour in Istanbul over and over, and then again when you arrive in Cappadoccia. It is not necessary at all to book a tour, unless you really are in a rush and want to be driven around or unless you want to see gimmicky things such as pottery-making demonstrations.
Göreme … Goreme is the best place I have ever been in my life. The nature, landscaping, and the people are great.
Göreme … Goreme is a nice place, very laid back. I enjoyed most the walk through the Red Rose VAlley. the valley itself is great and you'll end up at the "Flintstone café", run by a friendly guy. the vies from there are marvellous. there is a church nearby which to my opinion tops the ones in the open air museum in Goreme: have a look. Keep on walking to the sunset point for more great hiking, the sunset pint is rather so so but it is easy to go back to Goreme on the road from there.
Kose Pension in Göreme … We spent a little over a week at Kose. Dawn and her team were warm and friendly people. We would gladly return for a month. Food was great. In the six months we were travelling this was one of the most relaxed places.
Backpackers Cave Hostel Yasin's Place in Göreme … We had a great time at Yasin's Place! He is a great host and he will do anything for you, just ask him. He will help you. He is very funny, and his self cooking breakfast are wonderful. He knows a lot about the environment and can take you on a trip to see the best places around Goreme. The hostel itself is beautiful. You can sleep in a cave and its looks cosy. Everywhere is central heating and hole day long the shower is hot. Yasin's dad is building new shower and toilets so the whole place will even look greater. We had a wonderful time in Göreme and Yasin is the five-star rating more than worth!
Backpackers Cave Hostel Yasin's Place in Göreme … It does not have a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and other "necessities" of travel that travelers seem to love so much nowadays. It does however have something much better -- an undefinable charm starting with the grapes hanging so low on the balcony, you can actually pluck them off with your mouth. The greatest asset of staying in Yasin's place is getting to know Yasin and (in my case) his adorable mother. I bet this guy is gonna go places. The basic facilities were good, the cave room very cosy and comfortable, the view was amazing. The family living room becomes everyone's meeting point and the conversation just flows like the Cappadoccian wine. Loved it.
Star Cave in Göreme … I honestly can't sing enough praise for the Star Cave hostel or Ramazan and his fathery (the managers). We had so much fun here that we extended our stay in Goreme from two nights to a week. The hostel is brand new, the dorm/bathrooms are modern and clean with western toilets. Ramazan offers amazing meals in house that are cheaper and tastier than your likely to find anywhere else in town and he personally called around and organised tours/activities we wanted for half the price we could get. (Trust me -- we checked!) He even came with us to the local bar and kept an eye on the girls in the group to make sure everyone got home safely! Try and find that kind of service in another hostel. The pictures shown here don't do the dorm rooms justice -- these may be the private rooms? The dorm room i stayed in was much nicer than this. Don't be put off by the kind of shabby looking entrance when you arrive -- give the place a chance and you won't regret your stay here.
Kose Pension in Göreme … An awesome place to stay! Dawn and Mehmet will make you feel at ease. With their wealth of local knowledge and great hospitality you can't go wrong.
Backpackers Cave Hostel Yasin's Place in Göreme … I stayed here September/October 2009 for ten days. The uniqueness and tranquility of both the caves and hostel setting would make me return sometime in the future. The hostel owner was both kind and knowledgeable and able to organise trips at good prices.
Kose Pension in Göreme … Great place to stay, they have a nice pool, good to meet other travellers and relax! The dog Spotty is really funny and follows you on your walks. They also have good food.
Peri Caves Hostel in Nevşehir … the rooms are caves. all rooms are with bathroom. nice garden terrace.
Kose Pension in Göreme … Great clean pool, friendly people with good food plus Spotty the wonder guide dog for those that are missing their pets on holiday and need a top up.
Traveller's Cave Pension in Göreme … The best thing about this pension is its great views. This place has some very nice cave rooms, although we were placed in a fake-cave room under the reception area, which wasn't quite as nice but we didn't feel like moving since we were only there for two days. The owners are decent, and the facilities are clean. Like probably other places in Cappadocia, they will encourage you to purchase a tour but they weren't pushy to us about it. When we were there in the spring, the guests were almost entirely travelers from Asia speaking their own languages, so it wasn't the most social of atmospheres.
Backpacker' Cave Interyouth Hostel in Göreme … I stayed here in January, so granted it was cold outside. It was the worst hostel experience I had throughout all of my travels. My heater wouldn't stay on. There was no hot water. My room was so cold that I could see my breath! I had to take a cold shower in a freezing room. Even with two thick comforters on, I was too cold to sleep at all that night. I asked for help from the people who worked there, but they were all too drunk to be of help. If you are going to this town, stay somewhere else — you have plenty of choices!
Flintstones Cave Pension in Göreme … Excellent staff. Excellent place. We stayed in a real cave room, cool mate.
