Kas is a really charming small town! It has tourists, but it isn't full of with them. Many Turkish people go on vacation there. I really recommend it! (We were there at end of the August 2004.)
If you come Olympos you should do these things: swim at night once, go to orange bar once, be on the beach at sunrise.
Olympos was the best place I've been so far during my six months traveling --
ruins, beach, sunrise, and the people I met. I will be there again and again.
Olympos was great, and if you search hard enough in the caves -- mousewax!
I've been to many places and many I will not go back to, but Olympos will always be in my heart. What a fantastic place -- everyone should visit Olympos at least once in their lifetime.
I first visited Kas in 1984, and fell in love with it. It's small and quiet, with good food and great daily boat trips. Close to ruins and to Patara Beach.
Olympos The ruins are so wonderful and give you the feeling as if you just discovered them. They are so overgrown and the walk is a real adventure. Don't miss out on climbing to the top of the acropolis, you'll have breathtaking views.
Kas I have been there two times just for one night and I fell in love with this town. Next time I'll go for a longer time, that's for sure!
Tunay's Pansiyon in Çıralı My girlfriend and I stayed eleven nights in Tunay's pansiyon, and it was a beautiful time for us. I would say the best holiday in our life. Our room was simple but very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed to relax (comfortable bed, wardrobe, bedside table, air-conditioned, clean and cozy bathroom). The pension has a really beautiful garden. I would say maybe the most beautiful in Cirali. The personnel were very nice and the meals were always delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere of the pension was very familiar but absolutely not pushy. I hope we can return there some day.
Ates Pension Hostel in Kas I thought this place was very good. However, I was told I would pay 6.00 pounds, and in the end was asked for 25 million Turkish Lira. My only other criticism is that the mosquito screens have a gap at the bottom. I had to seal my room, and only Autan came to my rescue. Please, make sure the screens are sealed in future.
Sabah Pansiyon in Antalya This place is very friendly. I got to meet loads of people, and had a great time. Security was very good, and the staff were great - very helpful. All in all, I had a great time.
St. Nicholas Pension in Patara My wife and I have been regular 'guests' at this splendid pension for the past five years. In that time it has constantly improved -- now boasts air conditioning and fans as well as double glazing. But all that is as nothing compared with the excellence of its food and the warmth of its owner Mustafa and his wife and staff. That is vouched for by the many visiting friends we have made here and who we meet again year after year. The pension provides free transport to Patara's superb eighteen kilometer sandy, turtle nesting beach with a sun umbrella thrown in for good measure. Once bitten by the Patara bug, yoiu'll want to return again and again and again.
Kadir's Tree House in Olympos I stayed here in 2004 April with five friends and I can say that this place is more than somewhere for accommodation. This place is in the middle of nature and has a great atmosphere with friendly staff. The best part of Kadir's Tree House was drinking beer at "Happy Hour." There is a bar called Bull, and we enjoyed the music there. Food was great, breakfast and dinner was included in the price and we could eat till we were full. The only negative comment I can give is that this place is a little far from sea. You have to take a 15-minute walk. I stayed in another place in Olympos and I can say Kadir's is the best one there.
Yasemin Pension in Kemer This place was very good.
Hotel Kayahan in Kaş We stayed there for four nights in may 2006. (Originally booked it for a week.) When you see the room you get a shock -- gloomy and dirty, not enough light in the room, and not enough sun coming in either. The carpet was never cleaned or vacuumed. The maids were not cleaning either. The shower curtain was full of mildew, never cleaned or changed. No tissues in the room. The bedcovers were dirty. The front and balcony door were hard to unlock. The balcony door had a huge whole so when it was completely shut, there was still a big opening letting bugs and insects pass through. The walls had cracks and the ceiling had patches of paint. The beach is a private beach in that it is a one hundred meters wide beach belonging to Marti and guards will ask you ten times a day if you stay at Marti. But, you swim among boats. There is little space to swim. On your left you have the yachts, the tour boats, the taxi boats evey half hour and on your right all the parasailing boats, the scooters, the
