Selcuk is a great way to see other points of interest. I was able to get to Ephesus, Pamakkale, the Greek village of Serince and Priene, Miletos, and Didyma easily. I would recommend staying in Selcuk to visit these areas.
Bergama … The best way to get to the Acropolis is to head up the road the Odyssey Guesthouse is on (near the Red Basilica) and just keep going up until you hit the main road (about five to ten minutes), rather than the circuitous route the guidebooks recommend.
Ephesus Inn Hostel in Selcuk … One of the best hostels I've stayed in throughout Europe. The free pool table was wicked but the staff just topped it off by going beyond the call of duty to make sure you're having a great time. I'd highly recommend it to anyone travelling through Turkey.
Atilla's Getaway - Travellers Resort in Selcuk … Real nice place. few kilometers out of town. Quiet during daytime. Party in the evening. Very friendly staff. they really like what they are doing and that is what you feel. Real nice food. Take the breakfast and dinner deal. its great value and have dinner all together will bring you a lot of new friends. No problems at all here!
Atilla's Getaway - Travellers Resort in Selcuk … I just finished a three-night stay, and was blown away by the fresh healthy food, relaxed pool scene, and proximity to great sites like Ephesus and the Temple of Artemis. I couldn't stay here for more than a week, but it's a great place to recharge the batteries. The staff, mostly made up of members from the same family, are friendly, and more than helpful. Prices are reasonable too. All in all, Attilla's Getaway is probably the best place to stay in Selcuk.
Atilla's Getaway - Travellers Resort in Selcuk … This place is great. Very relaxing and comfortable. Also it seems like everyone who stays here are really great people. They provide breakfast and dinner which are made by local village women and out of this world. The hostel is outside selcuk but just a five-minute car ride. They also do free drop off and pick up in selcuk and ephesus. Everyone who works there is great. Plan on staying longer than expected.
Artemis Hotel in Selcuk … This hostel is run by an english speaking Turkish and Australian couple. It has very clean rooms and bathrooms in each room, a welcoming atmosphere and is centrally located only 2 minutes walk from the train station. They have meals available, at very reasonable prices, with indoor and outdoor places to eat. There is a common room for reading by the fire, and another one for watching satellite television. They have an extensive travel library for the travelers use, and internet on-site. They do not have self catering facilities, but do have laundry service. All rooms are multiple bed, rates and pictures of the rooms available on their website. They have a carpet sales centre in the building (no pressure to buy), and are installing a full service travel agency in the extended area of their lobby. There is a swimming pool in the summer months.
Nur Pension in Selcuk … The personnel's attitude towards guests is really nice. As Tom is saying "If you are happy, we are happy," and they seem to follow this principle. Except room, they would offer some free services, as picking you up from the bus station, booking tickets, and free internet connection. And Tom might also help you with getting around on his car for a fee smaller than taxis. I've attended hostel in the winter, so in rooms it was cold (bu they provide warm for additional fee). Everything else is the best choice for the price they have (I think the price is the major high point).
Tuncay Pension in Selcuk … Very friendly, low-key owners at this small, ideally situated pension where the balcony looks out to Ayasuluk fort and the roof looks across the Roman baths. The rooms are quite nice, very clean, the mattresses are firm and the bathrooms sparkle. I spent the night and hope to return with my wife next summer.
Odyssey Guesthouse in Bergama … We loved the Odyssey Guesthouse. It felt like home, and we stayed longer than planned as it was so comfortable and welcoming. Go and experience their hospitality for yourself -- it's unbeatable and Bergama is a great town to explore!
Odyssey Guesthouse in Bergama … Odyssey Guest house is a great place to base your time in Bergama -- a very friendly host (English-speaking), rustique house with great views, comfortable atmosphere, good price, and placed at the heart of the old side of town. The house itself has been restored and is worth seeing, with ample rooms, high ceilings and the feeling of being transported almost a century back. The decoration is well balanced and has a good selections of interesting books. Best stay I had in my two weeks in Turkey. Bergama has the air of a village but of bigger size. Multiple shops with traditional goods, nice local restaurants/lokantas (dinners), and a vivid high street. On tops, the Monday market is also quite worth a visit. It is home to Pergamum (mountaintop Acropolis) and other Greek-roman-byzantine outstanding ruins, which are some of the finest to be found in Turkey. As well, a thirty-minute dolmus (minibus) ride will get you to Chandarli and Dikili, two nice seaside towns with good uncrowded…
Tuncay Pension in Selcuk … I stayed in November 2006. Both a building and a room are very clean, can calm down. I am very sorry that I stayed only in one day. I should have stayed here during a trip all the time. It was very lucky we could stay here. And he is a very kindly and nice person, I talked so with a friend. Thank you for finding us in a bus station. Thanks to you, I was able to spend wonderful time.
Kiwi Pension in Selcuk … The Kiwi Pension is a brilliant find. Located within minutes of the Centrum, it caters to all travel budgets. It has warm and friendly staff, a pool table, fantastic swimming pool, excellent breakfasts and service. Plus the owners also run the Amazon Restaurant — absolutely one of the best places I have dined while in Turkey! Highly recommended.
Odyssey Guesthouse in Bergama … I enjoyed staying here. In fact, I stayed in Bergama longer than I intended because I was so comfortable here. The breakfast (included) was excellent too! I would recommend this guest house to anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet visit in the old town area, just across from the Red Basilica.
