Chiang Mai Comments
Chiang Mai … Try a village trek, easily arranged through many hostels. However, if you are heading to neighbouring Laos, wait till then.
Green Tulip House in Chiang Mai … This place is the best place I have stayed! It is brand new with lovely rooms and bathrooms, a terrace, and a rooftop. The hostel is a little bit of a walk from the night market but in a nice part of town. The owners are the kindest people you will meet, and they are full of info about where to go and what to do. The food is fab too, we ate there everyday except when we did the cookery course, when we were too full! I would recommend this place to anyone as it is so nice.
MD House Hostel in Chiang Mai … The owner is so friendly. From the very start he treats each guest with the same warm welcome and offers to help with anything to make the guests' stay in Chiang Mai a memorable one. He booked us a fantastic one day safari to the elephant farm and river rafting. This excursion turned out to be our most memorable experience in South East Asia and for that we are grateful. The room was very clean, spacious, and we had the use of computers for free internet access. We would most definitely recommend MD House to anyone traveling to Chiang Mai.
The International Chiangmai Hotel (YMCA) in Chiang Mai … YMCA are the best and thats the truth. They picked us up from the airport for free and made us feel really welcome with maps and the best places to go. The restaurant is fantastic and very cheap. Actually all of Chiang Mai is cheap right down to the alcohol. Rooms are beautiful just as you see in the pictures, with cable tv, mini bar, and a real bathroom. Cost three hundred baht each per nite in private room but well worth it. Located near central plaza, which has great shopping, about ten to fifteen minutes to night market. Side streets have fantasic internet that are really fast. Definitely recommend the night market, as they have very cheap stuff.
Sarah Guest House in Chiang Mai … Excellent place — I have stayed here twice. Clean, good value and great location; I will definitely come again.
Sarah Guest House in Chiang Mai … My wife and I stayed at Sarah's for three nights in January. We enjoyed the stay a great deal. Food and drinks were readily available, the rooms were perfectly good (especially given how cheap they are), and the staff were able to help us out with everything we needed. Very chill place with a mixed crowd ranging from twenty-somethings to fifty-somethings. Always felt welcome.
The International Chiangmai Hotel (YMCA) in Chiang Mai … The International hotel YMCA Chiangmai boasts an excellent restaurant, a tropical swimming pool, and convenient seminar rooms in save cost with a warm welcome and an excellent service in a homelike atmosphere. The room was offered a very good selection of television channels, a curtained shower, a comfortable bed, and air conditioning -- all luxuries I have not received at inexpensive price anywhere else in Thailand.
Sarah Guest House in Chiang Mai … Everyone was pleasant and certainly did more than enought to please their guests. My daughter and I were there in early 2006 for over three weeks and because it was so close to everything and all at Sarah's were more than congenial, we did extend our stay before going on to Bangkok and home. In fact we are planning at the end of this year or early next year to return and return to Sarah's. It get an excellent rating and especially with the rates for what we had!
Banana Guest House in Chiang Mai … I had so much fun staying here with my friends that I've advised every single person I meet to go here, too. They were the most friendly, entertaining, welcoming, and sweet people I've ever had the pleasure to meet in a hostel, and they were brilliant!
Banana Guest House in Chiang Mai … I loved staying here. I stayed here by myself as a single female traveller in '96. The staff was helpful and really entertaining. You used to be able to draw all over the walls in the restaurant, too?? I am definitely going back.
Thai Way Guesthouse in Chiang Mai … I'm Belgian and I used this place to sleep 2003 and 2004 2 times 3 weeks. Like I say I leave in the morning and came back in the evening the rest of the time I was out. It was verry clean and in the night quit. The poeple there nice and always ready to help you. For me a good place, I will not recomend it I want to be there next time when I go to Chiang Mai. I like this place. Daniel
Thai Way Guesthouse in Chiang Mai … This is a nice, take it easy guest house. The dog MoMo will love you forever if you show him some affection. The guest house has good security, and everyone is very friendly. I've been visiting there for seven years, and it's always a pleasure to go back there. Use the fax number to call them.
Banana Guest House in Chiang Mai … I visited Banana Guesthouse in march 2005 and enjoyed my stay very much!! The hotel is nice and simple, the rooms are clean and VERY cheep!! The staff is friendly and I went to a very nice trekking tour, organized by the hotel. The 3 stars is for the standard of the hotel. The hotel staff and the trekking will get 5 stars!! Thank you very much, I will come back!!
