I visited Brunskog in late August 2002 while on a day trip from Norway, as my great grandmother came from Byn in Brunskog. We found a very interesting historic village there, but alas it stopped its displays for the season a few days previously. I wish there was more in the internet in English about the district and the village. It was very frustrating to see it and to be there, but not to be able to learn what were were looking at. Searching the WWW has not helped either. However, the district and place looked very nice. I would love to return someday -- and to stay more than a couple of hours.
STF/HI Youth Hostel Karlstad in Karlstad … They have just moved into a newly renovated building and it's all really very nice! Friendly staff and very nice rooms, no hard, back breaking bunk beds. We walked into the shopping centre of Karlstad in ten minutes, which was close and good. The breakfast buffet is yummy!
STF/HI Youth Hostel Karlstad in Karlstad … With fourteen people did we stay a night in the hostel during may 2007. It took us a while to find it, but the hostel itself is perfect. Everything is in good condition, big kitchen, and nice rooms. Everything looks clean and new, ideal. There is a nice field before the hostel to play ballgames or something else.
