Tarifa has a very cool vibe. But in August, it is packed with families and annoying people. You MUST book in advance to stay here. Nightlife is very cool, but if you're lucky enough to be in a windstorm there, you're screwed during the day.
Tarifa is a bit laid back place, it feels quite far away from the rest of Europe and you can feel it. I really enjoyed the beaches, which are wide and half empty, top beaches in Europe. Feels almost like Jamaica. I loved the place.
If you really want to enjoy the beautiful Tarifa, go there in low season -- the best moments are April and October. In July and August, it's too crowded.
Granada was magical. It made my whole 2 1/2 weeks trip to Spain worthwhile. I miss it so much. Try to hike up to Sacramonte. There was an old couch up there, cactuses, and a woman sitting on the couch who kept smiling and waving at us. You can see the whole city from up there, the old Arab quarter, and la Alhambra, with its flags blowing and the mountains looming in the background.
Well I went to Nerja with two friends and all I can say it was bloody fantastic!! It had a real Spanish feel to it, we met some locals and they showed us round and well I would really recommend anyone to pay Nerja a visit. A place for all ages a really great place!!
When you're in Seville, don't miss the Seville Mosque. It's worth it.
I went to Nerja for New Year and what a fantastic place. It's no good for single sex groups, but couples and older people it's perfect. I stayed on the balcony and the surroundings are very clean and lots of good restaurants.
Seville is truly delightful!!
Just in Nerja, beautiful town, nice people, driving a pain in the ARS, scooters ripping by you. Wonderful town to explore on foot, shopping nice, views spectacular, food Spanish, the bread (pan) long crusty hard loafs baked locally in small bakeries along the streets, their sweets are pretty, but not loaded with much flavor or sugar. The locals are nice, and most are eager to give you infomration upon request, but you bettere brush up on your Spanish. I would definitly return.
What to say -- Tarifa is the best! Beaches are awesome. I'll come back for sure.
I love this town in low season. In August it's impossible to relax and have fun -- families everywhere, everything is too expensive, all bars and discotheques are overcrowded. Go to Tarifa but be careful by choosing the period!
Granada is a must see for anyone passing through southern Spain. The Alhambra is amazing. Try and reserve your tickets in advance. Also wander around the Albacin, or hike up the mountains and listen to the Gypsies play music, while enjoying the view. Don't bother staying anywhere that isn't close to the Albacin, because Garanda doesn't have much else to offer in the other areas.
