is a very friendly city, if you stay in the right parts! I drifted a bit away from the main central area and the reception wasn't so friendly at all! But I would definitely return to Glasgow as I found that after my visit there was still so much I wanted to do and so many nice people I would love to meet again!
is a great city with plenty to do both during the day and at night. The vast majority of museums are free, the shopping is second only to London, and the people are very friendly and helpful. At night, pubs and clubs along Sauchiehall Street offer cheap drink promos and often free entry during the week. The west end is beautiful, with great parks, architecture and more sophisticated nightlife. Go if and when you get the chance.
is the best!
All the galleries and museums have no admission charges. There are lots of bars that have no charges for student music scenes at night and in the afternoon. This is a student city paradise. It is also really friendly -- nobody talks to you in Germany like they do in
The nightlife is great, but I think
is a very industrial city -- not so beautiful as other cities in Scotland. I didn't like it at all, and I do not recommend visiting the city if you're looking for something more than parties, pubs, and discos.
is simply great. The west end with Botanic Gardens and Glasgow University, the east end with the old town and the Cathedral and the City Center for shopping, beautiful greens... A very friendly people and the Week of the World Pipe Band Championships in August.
