Matsumae Ryokan in Nara … I lived in Japan for two and a half years and was still impressed by this little ryokan. The owners are incredible friendly and helpful, the rooms are a good size, and for a ryokan the walls are not so thin! If you order dinner, a visual symphony arrives in the newly decorated dining room. Quite delicious and different every day. This gem must be one of the best deals in Japan!
