Samrat Cottage in Lonavala Wow! Great location. All amenities. Well furnished with neat and clean linen. A fully stocked kitchen. Lovely garden. Beautiful pool. I felt like I was at my own home. Homely environment. Memorable stay! Lonavala is beautiful and I went in the rains and it was all misty and wonderful.
Hotel Metro Palace in Mumbai I found this to be a good hotel as a two-star hotel -- friendly staff and good location -- clean room.
Samrat Cottage in Lonavala Modest Cottage. Good location. Quiet and Peaceful locality. Nice garden. Clean and neat place. Decent and helpful couple was caretaker of the cottage. We were a big group and enjoyed the stay and it felt like home. They allowed us to cook meals.
Value for money. Reasonable and economical. You need to have your own transportation as there are no cabs around. We had a great party!
Hotel Metro Palace in Mumbai This is a very good hotel. Maybe some services should be ameliorated. It has a good staff, who need more motivation from the management side. Better rates should be given to repeat guests.
Samrat Cottage in Lonavala We were underwhelmed by this place. It was difficult to find, with no signage. It was far from the main road and services. The caretaker spoke no English, with made the transaction difficult. When he phoned Mumbai for translation, he charged us for the phone call! We were locked in at night -- ringing for entry would have meant waking the household. One towel provided for two people, no toilet paper, no AC (when we tried to use it, it blew out all the power). Fortunately we stayed only one night and were happy to leave. Never again!
Hotel Samrat in Mumbai It was the first night in India ever! Hotel Samrat wasn't exactly what I was expecting but it wasn't bad. Rooms were qite clean but unfortunately a bit loud because the train station is nearby. It's good for a short stay. But I wouldn't recommend it for a long term.
West End Hotel in Mumbai It's not good, the staff are aging and unfriendly, and it's too expensive for the kind of hotel it is.
Pals Hotel in Mumbai Was not central, Taxi driver couldn't find it! Staff were helpful, but room wasn't very clean at all!
Hotel Highway Inn in Mumbai What a filthy, dirty, rundown place. My "deluxe" room was in a back alley. The neighborhood is run down and unsafe to walk. The bed was so stained that I didn't want to lay on it. The room was filled with mosquitos. Due to the conditions of the room I stayed less than two hours, but they made me pay for the room in full and then though it was midnight they charged me $50 rupees for the couple of minutes it took to get to the airport and kept my deposits for the other nights. The pictures on the website are extremely deceiving!
Hotel Singhs International in Mumbai Stayed last year 2007. I have slept in disused pig sties, hedges, sheds over the years when stuck for somewhere to stay. This is the pits. I have not seen a dirtier mattress even at the dump. The staff are the unfriendliest I have met, out of probably twenty-five countries visited to date. I can't think of any redeeming aspects of this place. There are very few hotels I can remember the name of, but Singhs is imprinted in my memory forever.
Hotel Metro Palace in Mumbai I found this hotel to be dirty and expensive. It was much below my expectations. The service was very bad and you had to wait a long time. The food was so unhygienic I had dysentery during my stay. My holidays were spoiled and wasted because of the bad treatment that I received here. I spent my total time in the hotel.
