Hotel Koala in Kos … I've been coming here twice a year since about 1998. Nothing is too much trouble from this tremendously friendly family. To think that air-con, TV, en-suite are all standard fare is amazing. It's far enough from the town centre to make evenings quiet if you wish, but "night-life" is just a cheap taxi-ride away. Beaches are nearby; hire a bike from one of the specialist shops near-by (about a pound a day) and get the freedom of the island!
Summer Memories Apartments in Rhodes Island … We have booked Summer Memories for the third time and will be returning in October. We can't go anywhere else for holidays now. The apartments are spotless. Vasilis is very helpful and puts his customers first. Staff are all great. George is great at cooking and making his fancy cocktails. The apartments aren't on the main stretch of road, but near enough if you want to pop out to the shops at night.

Effie's Dreams in Rhodes Island … The best place we have ever been to. The Antonaras family was very friendly and helpful. Phillip makes the best coctails, Poppy cooks the greatest village sausage, Manuel always gives you any fruit from his trees that's in season, and Effie is always there with a smile to help on any question you throw at her.

Summer Memories Apartments in Rhodes Island … Just returned yesterday from these appartments. Nice central position for all restaurants, bars and of course the beach. Vasilis, his wife and the staff are all friendly and cheerful. Appartments are basic but very clean and it has a nice pool area.
Mango Rooms in Rhodes Island … We stayed at the Mango five or six times over the last 10 years. We always enjoy our stay with Dimitri and Amelia and family. They are very friendly. The drinks and bar snacks are the cheapest we have found in the old town. The rooms are basic but always clean. Although it is right in the middle of the Old Town it is quiet after midnight, so there are no sleepless nights. We are going again this year (October).
Zoe's Hotel-Studios in Rhodes Island … We stayed at Zoe's in August 2004 for 2 weeks. It was nice and quiet and had very easy to access to Faliraki, with nice beaches nearby. Everything about the place was fine, apart from two major things that people should really watch out for!!!
They provide a free mini bus into town, which runs every hour in the evening. But while the guy who drives the minibus is waiting for people to gather he sits in the bar drinking ouzo and lots of it!! We once got in the bus and he stopped halfway down the road saying in very broken English that he had drank too much so we had to walk the rest of the way!!! We were horrified, as there were plenty of families there with children! We complained but were told he doesn't drink that much and never goes over the limit, even though we were sitting in the same bar watching him down 4 or 5 glasses!! He is a family friend who's there during the whole day!
