Besançon … Besancon is absolutly worth a day or two. Especially the walk up to the castle with a their various museums and the zoo -- I normally do not like zoos but this one is not only in a great location (great views) but the those lions and tigers are impressive and well-housed.
Les Rousses … Tres bon. Je voudrais revisiter.

Foyer Mixte De Jeunes Travailleurs Hostel in Besançon … I've been living in this hostel for 4 months. It's exceptional, really. I suggest everybody interested in incoming in Besancon choose this option. "Les Oiseaux" — it's top of the hostel!!!
FJT le St Jean Hostel in Dole … An older, college-like dorm, but clean. And if you need something, just ask the staff. They're nice. Don't let the people around there scare you.
HI - Les Rousses Hostel in Les Rousses … It's awful, I urge you not to go to spare yourself the terrible food, bad atmosphere, awful service, and vile rooms.
HI - Pontarlier Hostel in Pontarlier … HI - Pontarlier Hostel has a great central location and is newly renovated with all you need for a budget-conscious, comfortable, and clean place to stay. The dorms are spacious, bathrooms new and clean, the showers tiny but hot, and the guest kitchen adequate. Breakfast is included in the price…
