People could tell you that Pula is just a summer resort and that it's full of tourists, and maybe it is, but Pula is also one of the most beautiful towns in Istria and the Croatian coast! It has lots of interesting monuments to see (the first one, the Arena) but is small enough to not getting too tired. In fact, to see the town you just need a few hours, then you can lie on the beach or just walk through the cosy streets, take a sit in a terrace, and have a cocktail or a delicious ice cream.
Most Hostel Pula in Pula This hostel does not feel like a hostel at all. It is more as if you are staying in some friend's home for some days. All the facilities are absolutely new and kept sparklingly clean. Big rooms, with safe boxes for each guest. Awesome common room. Fully operative kitchen. Right five minutes walking to Giardini and the rest of the sights in the center of town. And the best asset of this hostel is, not a doubt about that, her owner. She is a incredibly nice woman that will go out of her way to help his guest. Treats you not as a customer but as a guest on her very home. You cannot go wrong with this one.
HI - Pula Hostel in Pula Brilliant location, you won't find better if you're after a relaxing time. It's a long way from town but the bus is good and the walk is nice. The food is awful and there's only one shower per floor. Watch out for dirty old men on the surrounding beaches.
HI - Pula Hostel in Pula This hostel had its own private beach! Although I was there in January and it was too cold for swimming it still was a nice place to go. The location was a bit far from the city center (25-minute walk) but most of the hostels in Croatia are not located in the center anyway. The showers were ok. Overall it's a good place to stay, especially in summer with its own private beach. And they have trampolines, which are heaps of fun!!!
HI - Pula Hostel in Pula Great as a retreat in summer: outdoor meals, water activities, and cycling at nearby nature park. The outdoor breakfast is generous for Southern Europe. Staff were professional and helpful. It looks like this place could at times be overrun with school groups.
HI - Pula Hostel in Pula Really nice place. It's next to a nice rocky beach with beautiful surroundings. The staff were exceptionally polite and didn't get worked up even because of big problems. This place had good and clean rooms with fine beds and a good social area outside. Bring your own booze, though.
The only negative thing I can say is that we had two British beer bellies in our room who snored so loudly that people in other rooms were going crazy. My friend is renowned for being a snore machine but he was like a baby compared to these guys.
HI - Pula Hostel in Pula This hostel is on a nice beach, however, it is at the end of a dark path-like road, which is a little scary if you are walking alone in the dark. I had a hard time finding this hostel, so be prepared to look for it. This is an average hostel, rather clean, and an ok shower. The beach is the best part of the stay here.
Villa Salzburg in Rovinj Sandro and his staff friendly, clever, emphatic, and at all very very good.
The rooms are very clean, moody, climatised (mostly). The food are the best that I have eaten in Croatia, domestic and very very much. It is not used to drink one beverage for the supper for free. It is very intelligent host mentality and manner. It is very friendly. I am a class-chief and i was with twenty-two students (plus seven persons of mine) in his appartement. Everybody was satisfied, really. Sandro and his staff are good, open persons. I recommend it very much and thank for all.
Rooms Montalbano in Rovinj Four of us stayed at this guest house for six nights in august and were overwhelmed by the hospitality of Frank (the owner), who made us feel like one of the family upon arrival. He oriented us with the town, places to see, and joined us for a drink, not something you get at major hostels and hotels thats for sure!
You couldn't ask for a more central and picturesque location in the middle of the old town, only meters away from the best restaurants, cocktails bars, bus terminal, ferry port to Venice, and only a few minutes walk to the beach and sunbathing platforms! The rooms are cosy with a small staircase and have good hot showers. We had such a wonderful holiday in such a quaint (non-english tourist) town by the amazing adriatic sea, and it was made special by Frank and our home-away-from-home. We highly recommend Rovinj and Montalbano for a memorable and affordable holiday in Croatia.
Camping Tourist Village Bijela Uvala in Poreč The campsite was so great! I made a lot of new friends, and the social life was great. It's just a five-minute walk to some nice clubs. The people are very nice, and care a lot about you. I am going again this year because it's f***ing great.
Villa Salzburg in Rovinj Welcoming host — he was helpful and informative. This was one of the best places I stayed on my trip. Breakfast was really good, and the rooms are clean, spacious, etc. I was really impressed by the owner bringing us to the bus station in his car, for free. Really friendly. The location is really good too, really close to the beach. Loved it.
Villa Salzburg in Rovinj We were budget travelers and booked through this site for the Villa Salzburg. Not only did we love Rovinj during our month long trip through Italy and Croatia, but we loved Sandro. After five days with him, he felt like a brother. Actually he kind of took care of us. He let us pick our own room, which were all painted different colors, fun! And he made whatever you wished for breakfast. You can also rent bikes from there which we did to give the feet a break. Excellent location to the beach, very clean, very homey, and charming. Also, be sure to take Sandro's recommendations for places to eat out at, he knows his stuff. We wish we would have listened to him sooner.
Villa Salzburg in Rovinj This is a guesthouse run by very friendly and helpful staff. It isn't exactly situated in a great party-planet, but the price is appropriate, the beaches are great and nearby, and the town is beautiful and peaceful.
