HI - Harbin Little Fir Youth Hostel in Harbin All in all, don't go here! We have seen hostels in town, and you're way better off there! First of all, the staff, which spoke no word of English, could not find our reservation anywhere, even though we booked the room twice -- online and via telephone (a Chinese friend was so friendly to make the call for us). Luckily we had our own room, which smelt of sewage, yum. Beds are ok though, and room was warm. That's about the only positive thing we can think of though. Staff were most of times unfriendly, and didn't put any effort into making you feel like a guest. This hostel has a curfew: be back before midnight, otherwise you might freeze to death outside. Mind you, it's -25 at the moment. When paying your key deposit, make sure that you keep the receipt, otherwise they just bluntly refuse to return you the money. Last thing, if you want to book a skiing trip through the hostel, please think twice! The trip only includes transport, two hours of skiing, and a quick lunch. The place
HI - Harbin Little Fir Youth Hostel in Harbin bad hotel! dirty, smelly, no english at all (which is really weird for an international youth hostel), you cannot get in the hostel after midnight, no hot water. I even had to invite the police, because they didn't want to give me my money back, and they took my passport from my hand and wouldn't give it back. Horrible! Don't ever go to this hostel! many chinese hostels nearby, go to one of them.
HI - Harbin Little Fir Youth Hostel in Harbin I have traveled Asia for the last six months and this place is the worst place i have ever stayed in! Don't stay here! One shower for twenty people. The toilets are filthy. If you are not back by midnight, they lock you out in the cold. No english speakers. Very rude staff. Not helpful. They try to rip you off too.
HI - Harbin Little Fir Youth Hostel in Harbin I have traveled around the world, and around China for three months, and this was far and away the worst, most dismal hostel I've ever been stayed in. Not only is it located far, far away from anything of interest in harbin, nearly forty minutes in the south of the city, but the staff were hostile, rude, and stole my deposit, and made me pay twice for my bed. The hostel itself is dirty, barren of any amenities, and the most depressing place to sleep I've ever found. I would strongly warn away anyone potentially interested in staying here, and although it is the only hostel in town, you're far, far better off paying a little more at a cheap centrally located hotel than venturing to this hostel.
