HI - Huangshan - Huangshan International Hostel in Huangshan … This is an absolutly charming hostel, the best I have stayed in so far. The staff are so friendly I gained a new family in China. The rooms are clean and the decor is very nice. It's all designed by the owner. This place is highly recommended if you pass by the Huangshan area. (It has nice scenery, by the way.)
HI - Huangshan - Huangshan International Hostel in Huangshan … The BEST hostel I have stayed in so far. Very clean, nice little cafe/resturant with cheap food (also provides hot water for noodles, etc). TV viewing room upstairs. Rooms are spacious and clean with private bathrooms. Washing machine as well. The only issue we had was climbing up into our bunks after a long day climbing the mountains - it was our own fault though!
Huangshan City Bed & Breakfast in Huangshan … Steven and his family are excellent hosts. The hostel is very clean and comfortable and everyone is made to feel welcome. Steven is very helpful, organising tours to the local villages and the mountains, and his drivers are friendly and reliable. Everything is reasonably priced and his cooking is excellent! I can't recommend this hostel highly enough.
Huangshan City Bed & Breakfast in Huangshan … Most pleasant stay. Very clean, delicious meals, Steven and his wife are very, very nice and extremely helpful. Steve speaks excellent English. Great showers (clean towels and linen). He makes very good suggestions without pushing. Minutes from downtown. Offered cheaper and more interesting options for visiting sites which were excellent. Quiet setting with traditional\antique furniture (living room). Played Mah Jong and had great fun meeting fellow travelers.
Huangshan Old Street Youth Hostel in Huangshan … Nice rooms, very cheap rates, nice bar deck, excellent location, mediocre breakfast/good coffee, not the best laundry facilities, staff that speak English and are helpful with planning the Yellow Mountain trip. Wouldn't advise booking a bus to the next city (Yellow Mountain bus is good though). We had a horrible experience with the bus they booked for us to our next destination, so be sure to find out when your ride is coming to bring you to the bus, so if they are late you can just get a taxi. We were led to believe the bus was coming to pick us up at the hostel, so didn't get to worried about it when it was late -- ended up being on a horrible bus that took five hours instead of two. If the Yellow Mountain is your only reason for being in the area, consider the town at the base of the mountain instead of Tunxi for a head start on the first day of the hike. I would definitely recommend staying up on the Yellow Mountain for a night if you want to experience the mountain without an…
Huangshan Hot Springs Youth Hostel in Huangshan … If you chose this hostel because of its place, forget about it. It's about three kilometers away from the Hotsprings area, it's a rundown house with dirty rooms, chinese bathrooms, and dirty sheets. The old hostel was situated in the hot springs area, but it closed and the new one is in Tangkou town, far away from the bus stations. I was very disappointed!
