Hospedaje Costanera in Punta Arenas A lovely, warm, friendly place made even more warm by the wonderful host, Teresa. She is like your own Chilean Mum. The house is always toasty warm, which is really important in Punta Arenas. It's cold here -- really cold. Host speaks great english and is very helpful with any part of your stay, be it taxis, trips, or a cup of tea and biscuits. Stay nowhere else.
Hostal al Fin del Mundo in Punta Arenas A very good choice! It's run by nice, interested young people, who are also English-speaking. The price includes a good breakfast and optional Internet. Nice big and clean rooms and bathrooms!! Also there's a nice room where you can chat with other travelers or watch TV.
Maipu Street Hostal in Punta Arenas My parents and I spent three days at this excellent hostel in February 2005. We stayed in a triple room, which was spacious, clean and very cozy. Breakfast was delicious and rich. Patricia and her family made us feel very welcome in their home. She helped us with a lot of information about the town and provided us with maps and books about the area. The hostel is situated in a quiet area, close to the beautiful cemetery and only a few minutes' walk from the center. All the major attractions can easily be reached also without a car. We dearly recommend this hostel to everyone!
Hospedaje Costanera in Punta Arenas You'll feel you are a house guest of an extremely hospitable hostess. The rooms are in a house that looks just like another in this quiet residential neighborhood. Inside it felt like grandma's house -- warm and comfy. The beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are clean. Teresa is a sweet and kind lady. I got sick while staying there. Teresa took me to the emergency room, stayed by me while I was getting IV, then took me home, set me on the couch under a warm blanket and made me tea, before getting back to her work. I felt like being cared by my own mom! Teresa's very knowledgeable of the town and considerate of tourists' needs. If you tell her what your interests are, she would be able to tell you exactly where and when to go to get all the arrangements done. She helped me and other guests make our travel plans. My visit would not have been as smooth without her help! Thank you, Teresa!
Maipu Street Hostal in Punta Arenas I have been to this hostel and all I can say it that the family is fantastic! They make you feel as if you were one of them. The breakfast was delicious, too, because Mrs. Patty served it very nicely.
