Adela y Helmut in Temuco Freundliches Gasthaus mit komfortablen Zimmern. Dies war den kleinen Umweg wert.
[English Translation: Friendly accommodation with comfortable rooms. This was worth the small detour.]
La Torre Suiza in Villarrica I had a completely amazing experience in Chile, but the hotel kind of ruined it!
Hospedaje M at yra in Pucón Not a great hostel for backpackers, especially ones who want to get up early in the morning. Partying seems to go on through the night around the outdoor patio, especially with underage chileans on vacation. When we stayed there for two nights we never found any staff that could speak a word of English (or French as their sign claims!). Very few bathrooms in the place. One computer for free use. We stayed in the very tiny double en-suite and we had lukewarm showers -- that situation was not fixed throughout our stay (appears water pipe calcified although hot water temperature was also only set to 30C but was turned up with no dramatic change in our shower temperatures) and we were never offered any compensation. They claim that an adventure company associated with them offers discounts on trips, but the adventure company on O'Higgins is an empty store now with no forwarding address (and of course no one at the hostel spoke any English so we couldn't figure out if the store had
Hostal Backpackers in Pucón Backpackers Hostel is the best in Pucon. You will feel there as you were at home. It is great, clean, and very very friendly. Claudio and his family are genuine and helpful. Claudio even recommended me which tours to choose and his advise was cleary worthy. In few words, home sweet home is Backpackers Hostel.
Hostal Backpackers in Pucón Real nice place to stay ... friendly, welcoming and relaxed.
Antilco Cabins & Guesthouse in Pucón I stayed here for six nights and it is a fantastic place to be. The farm is run by lovely, friendly people who help you with everything. It is quite far out of town, but can grab lifts into and out of town with members of the family or staff for free when they are going, or for a small fee they will make a special trip. The cabins and guesthouse are really nice, great kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms. Also offer camping. The grounds are very nice, with great walking to do around. They also do great horse riding treks from half day to seven days, the tours are very helpful and they speak german, english, and spanish. The best horse riding i've done! The prices are great for such amazing accommodation. Great to stay in the country out of the town. Highly recommend.
Hostal Backpackers in Pucón Wow! In all of my travels in Chile, from San Pedro de Atacama to Pucon, I have to say that I enjoyed this hostel more than most. The accommodation itself is cozy, along with the fire that Claudio keeps going during the afternoon hours. Claudio is by far one of the best parts of staying at this backpackers. He knows when, where and what to do most all of the time. He hooked us up with some day adventures, good advice, and a taxi ride in and around Pucon. Great times will be had. Pucon and this backpackers are the ideal place to stay if you are looking for a jump-off point to adventure. Go to the grocery in town and use the kitchen, and if you are lucky, you may get Claudio to throw some chorizo and spice in your stew like he did for us. Good man, good times, good price. South America is quite a gem.
Hostal Backpackers in Pucón Claudio was great! Very laid back and relaxed hostel, comfy, inviting. A great find.
Hostal Backpackers in Pucón I had a great time in Backpackers Hostel, apart from being so tired from the adventures I was having everyday!!
Claudia and his wife have a great little hostel and have a great network of friends in the tourist business! We climbed a volcano and went rafting, and then to top it off they arranged trips to the local hot springs, which are so good!
I highly recommend this hostel for its atmosphere, helpful people and good location.
Hostal Backpackers in Pucón This is such a lovely hostel in a great position, only about 2 blocks from the main road. Claudio is such a great guy, really helpful and knowledgeable about the area and what you can do. The kitchen is also really useful even though around dinner time there does end up a bit of a queue to use it! Also it helped us save up a bit of money so we could afford to go snowboarding in Bariloche where we headed next. It's also really cheap for what it is, where it is and what they offer.
Pucon is such a lovely place, perfect for doing great adventurous stuff in the day and Hostal Backpackers was the perfect place to unwind in front of the warm fire (also perfect for drying out boots and socks for the next day!) and the big telly.
We had a great time and I would probably consider Hostal Backpackers to be the best hostel I stayed at in South America...and that's saying something!!
Hostel Donde Germán in Pucón About 3 weeks ago they opened a new 'guest house' there's a huge kitchen - with no closing time and a really cool living area. It was also cheaper than the hostel. It's about 10 minutes to the main street.
I highly recommend Vulcan Villarica and rafting through Volcan Activo. Joaquin and the team were professional, very freindly with cool little touches like a beer or a pisco sour at the end.
Hostel Donde Germán in Pucón it is really a lovely place, but there are way too many rules! the worst: on the day of my checkout my bus was leaving at 9 p.m. i was sick and stayed in the hostel. i was reading in the common room when the lady came up to me and told me if i want to stay longer in the hostel, i have to pay 4000pesos extra. thats ridiculous!
