Erratic Rock Hostel in Puerto Natales I would definitely recommend this place to anyone preparing for a trip to the Torres del Paine National Park. It has an American owner who was very knowledgeable about the park. They also offer excursions into the park and the surrounding area. The rooms were clean, as were the bathrooms. We stayed here before and after our hike. Breakfast was just what was needed before a long trek out in the park: scrambled eggs and real coffee!
Backpackers Kawashkar in Puerto Natales Omar was a fantastic host and his dog (Ajax) was adorable! Will rent you any equipment you need for trekking in Torres del Paine (and will show you how to set up the tent!). Will cook you breakfast as early as you need if you just tell him what time you are leaving. Overall, very good place to stay!
Erratic Rock Hostel in Puerto Natales This hostel is well known by travelers and you need to book in advance. They do a free talk every day at 3 p.m. telling you everything you need to know about trekking in Torres del Paine -- everything from which treks are perfect for your time frame to what food brands are good at the local supermarket! These guys really know their stuff and the hostel is very comfortable. Only problems are the time restraints on showering but easily overcome with a bit of planning. Bill the notorious American owner even lent me trekking clothes free of charge as I was ridiculously unprepared for the trip! (Thanks Bill.)
Hostal Las Carretas in Puerto Natales This place is lovely, pretty new -- it has two buildings, if you can get a room on the top floor of the newest building its great. My girlfriend had a cold while there and being in this hostel made it bearable. The beds are new and sheets crisp, like a hotel (very rare in hostels I've been in). Central heating throughout and the owners, although not great at english are very friendly and helpful. A little way from town but worth the walk, great breakfast too. I'd say this was the best hostel I've stayed in in South America.
Natales Hostel in Patagonia in Puerto Natales Natales Hostel is only two blocks up from the Navimag Ferry terminal and a few blocks down from the main town square. It is easy to find on a corner and signage is good.
The hostel is spotless and very spacious. Each dorm room has six beds and an en-suite bathroom, which is squeaky clean
