Curitiba … The city is very clean and organized, worth a visit.
Hostel Bambu in Foz do Iguaçu … We stayed in this hostel in March 2007 and it was the best hostel in Brazil. Hostel is located in nice (i would even say luxurious) villa in Foz. Rooms are spacious. it has outdoor place with bar, BBQ, and swimming pool. I felt like at home. Recommended.
HI - Ilha do Mel - Zorro Hostel in Ilha do Mel … I was in Ilha do Mel for New Year's and Hostel Zorro was a great pick. The location is great; rooms are clean and comfortable; breakfast is very complete; the common use area is well structured; and the owner is very kind, talkative and willing to help you in anything you might need. The only down point is that it has only one computer for guests to use, but yet again, in a gorgeous island who'll need computers.
HI - Ilha do Mel - Zorro Hostel in Ilha do Mel … We spent five days there in December. Cannot say enough about the treatment we received. Odisley, his wife, and staff made it most enjoyable.
Hostel Bambu in Foz do Iguaçu … Absolutely quality place, booked for two nights and ended up staying twelve, yep twelve nights in Foz! Not much to do there for that long, but had such a great time there, every night either BBQ or Chris and Diego (legends) taking us to their local pool bar. Made feel very welcome and knew everything about area and helped organise buses. Can't recommend this place enough to anyone, good location too.
HI - Foz do Iguaçu - Paudimar Hostel in Foz do Iguaçu … Great environment and nice atmosphere, although needs a bus into town and the local connecting bus stops at seven p.m. -- but you're not really missing much by not being in town. Great friendly staff and tourism guide (although he's definitely on commission!). Rooms fine. Bathrooms good. Extras great -- pool is nice, but untreated, canteen good (dinner now R$9), and apparently there's a communal kitchen too, lots of sports facilities. Best hostel on my trip so far.
HI - Foz do Iguaçu - Paudimar Hostel in Foz do Iguaçu … LP describes this hostel as a "mini-resort" and it really is. The place is clean, well run, friendly, and extremely helpful. Oh yeah, they even have a desk where you can book tours to the Argentinian side, Pantanal, or any other part of Brazil. It's 30 minutes from the city by public bus but there isn't much going on in the city at night anyway. This is the place to stay if you stay on the Brazilian side.
Hostel Bambu in Foz do Iguaçu … A warm welcome here. I was staying for one night and stayed three. Good English spoken and they are a mine of information on transport, places to visit etc. Well situated for buses, shops, and nightlife. They mean it when they say our home is your home. A very relaxed atmosphere.
Hostel Bambu in Foz do Iguaçu … I stayed here about a month after they opened and even though they weren't finished all of the rooms, Chris gave up his bedroom to make space! This is the best place I stayed in all of south america due to Chris and Diego. They are multilingual and know information about almost anything you could want to know about travel in south america. I can't recommend Hostel Bambu more!
HI - Foz do Iguaçu - Paudimar Falls Hostel in Foz do Iguaçu … The hostel is very good, and also its location. The bar and the swimming pool were the best places. The dorms were hot, but the weather was 46 degrees (Celsius).
HI - Foz do Iguaçu - Paudimar Hostel in Foz do Iguaçu … The room and bathroom were ok. The staff very friendly and the owner very helpful. We booked at the reception desk few trips and they organised them very well. There is a big space to hang out, a bar, and swimming pool. The only disadvantage was very poor breakfast, but in general worth recommendation.
Hostel Bambu in Foz do Iguaçu … This was a great hostel, central, and very secure. The building was clean and spacious with excellent facilities and the outside kitchen and pool added a touch of luxury! Chris and Diogo were really helpful and sociable, telling us the best ways to see the falls. What really made my stay however was Clifford, what a great little chap who just loved curling up on my bed! We stayed an extra night! My only criticism would be the one computer which was also needed by the staff causing some waiting time.
HI - Foz do Iguaçu - Paudimar Hostel in Foz do Iguaçu … The Paudimar Hostel is a pretty nice place. It is a resort in the fact that it is far away from anywhere. The dorm rooms are small but clean. The bathrooms are clean and have individual shower stalls, which is nice. There is a free buffet breakfast that is standard fruit, cake, and bread. They offer a buffer dinner at night that costs 7 Reals. It is not that bad for the price. There is not much to do at night. They have a bar area with a small TV and a pool table located by the pool. It is a good place to read and meet other travelers.
