Bruges is a surprising little place.
Ypres … It's a lovely friendly town -- great place to stay.
Bruges … Great place. We would love to go back there. We definitely recommend the canal tour -- sit up the front of the boat as it adds to the experience going under the low bridges. The food is also great -- many a quality bakery and some great little pubs too.
Kosmos Hostel in Ypres … Our stay was unbelievable. The view was great, the facilities were great and the food was great. I will surely come back next year. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Kosmos Hostel in Ypres … I stayed here November 11, and it was excellent. The staff were very kind and helpful, even helping us get to the hostel from the station in France, because there is no public transportation to that village. It was perfect.
Snuffel Backpacker Hostel in Bruges … I just stayed at the Snuffel- it was woooonnnddderful! I loved it, and so did all my travel mates! Everything is clean, everything is very social, and happy hour is wonderful. I am willing to say that during my trip (I'm still doing it) the Snuffel has been quite possibly the best place we stayed at. We loved it...STAY THERE! You won't regret it!
International Youth Hostel De Peerdevisser in Oostduinkerke … The hostel is very nice, friendly and very clean!!! It's the best location I've ever seen. The hostel is near the beach and Centrum.
Lybeer Travellers' Hostel in Bruges … Lybeer's was a great find! An awesome place to chill when taking a breather from walking around this small but lovely city. The staff was one of the friendliest in Europe! Everybody was willing to give you any information and tips along with a friendly smile. The room we stayed in was bright and comfortable and the breakfast was really good. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to anyone.
Snuffel Backpacker Hostel in Bruges … I loved this hostel. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a free walking tour included in the cheap price. The showers were a bit dirty by late morning but everything else made up for it.
Lybeer Travellers' Hostel in Bruges … The Lybeer is a really great hostel. It was the fourth hostel I had stayed in and it was by far the best! All of the staff is really nice, helpful, speak great English, and several speak multiple languages. The owners also opened a restaurant that's not particularly close to the hostel, but we made the walk (fifteen minutes or so) and it was well worth it. The food was tasty and plentiful and we even saw the bartender from the Lybeer eating dinner, so he made us some recommendations that worked out perfectly, thanks Kai! The relaxed atmosphere that the staff put out makes it much easier to meet people, and pretty much everyone we talked to at the lybeer were pleasant, good people from all around the world. Happy hour(s) with Kai were the best, I would definitely stay here again, for even longer than I did, which was two days, by the way. It's not a big party hostel or anything like that, it's still plenty quiet and a good place to get some rest, but also perfect for meeting new…
International Youth Hostel De Peerdevisser in Oostduinkerke … I had a beautiful time in the youth hostel at Oostduinkerke. One of the things that I loved was the area, so quiet, and not that far from beach/centrum. The person at the reception was all the time very helpful with tourist information, which I find very important, he gave me also some nice addresses to eat and drink in the centrum! If I'm in the area I will return for sure!
Snuffel Backpacker Hostel in Bruges … My fiancé and I loved this hostel! We stayed here one night in the 6 bed room, and then after having a dirty time in Amsterdam, we elected to come back to Snuffel and Spend a night in the 4 bed "blue room" (if you can, get that room since it has its own shower). The staff were excellent, cool guys who run the whole show, and are chill to shoot the BS with while drinking all those high alcohol content beers. Do the walking tour, it's a good time and you get to see the parts of Bruges that normally you wouldn't know about like the windmills and the archery teams. Don't forget to roll down the big hill by the windmill! I was the only one to do it, but it was sweet. Bruges is amazingly clean and so is Snuffel. Plus their happy hour is an awesome deal (1 euro mugs) and the Snuffel beer is by far the best beer I've ever had, and take it from me (a man who enjoys his brew), that you won't be disappointed with Snuffel Beer or the Hostel. Cheers!
Snuffel Backpacker Hostel in Bruges … We had a great night at Snuffel. the rooms were really clean, they all had fresh folded ironed sheets, a nice blanket and pillow for us on the beds. the beds were really comfy! the staff were cool, and the bar downstairs was good too. they have a beer card where you can get five beers for 9euro, and they're full sized beers, not sample ones or something! you get a brugge card where you can get discounts on certain things in town. it's pretty close to the amazing square, and really easy to find! i cant really see why anyone would put in a bad review about this place, we couldn't fault it. it's not small and dodgy but its not huge and commercial. it's big enough to have good facilities and a lot of people in there. i would recommend this place for any traveler, alone or in a group.
International Youth Hostel Groeninghe in Kortrijk … Our school, South Huron District High School, found this hostel the most accommodating site. Johann and his wife, Christine, were the most gracious managers we met on our battlefields tour of Europe. The food was wonderful and the hospitality unforgettable. The students had nothing but good things to say about their stay at the Groeninghe Youth Hostel.
Snuffel Backpacker Hostel in Bruges … This is one of the best places I've ever been. The city is lovely, as well as the hostel itself. It is built inside a stone building, with maze-like stairs connecting the base and the first floor. The receptionists and people working in the bar are pretty cool. The bar itself has more than 20 different types of Belgian beer. The accommodation is really cheap, 11 euros for a twelve-bed room, 12 euros for a six-bed room. The rooms are clean and big. The only problem is with the showers. You have to hold down a handle, which tries to let go, and makes some stupid noise. The kitchen is rather small, but it's useful with all the fancy and expensive restaurants around. You can also rent bikes for 5 euros a day from this place. This hostel is as lovely as the small medieval town of Bruges itself.
