Graz definitely doesn't match up to its close rivals Vienna and Slazburg, but it does offer a great day trip. The river winds through the city and its plesant to take a stroll alond it while taking in some of the modern and ancient architecture. The old clock tower is also worth a visit with some great views of the city available by it.
HI - Graz - Jugend & Familiengästehaus Graz Hostel in Graz … Excellent hotel-like breakfast. Clean room, excellent bathroom with towels. Cozy garden around the hostel. Quite close to train station. Polite personnel. Overall, it is one of the best hostels I've visited. Non-free internet.
HI - Graz - Jugend & Familiengästehaus Graz Hostel in Graz … This place is great, clean and safe. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is within easy walking distance of the city center and close to the main train station. It seems to be very well suited toward families with small children but single lone travelers like myself are equally welcomed. I would come back here when I'm in Graz again.
HI - Graz - Jugend & Familiengästehaus Graz Hostel in Graz … It has clean room with clean sheets and towels. The staff and friendly and they have activities in the garden. And Graz it's a lovely place.
HI - Bad Aussee - Jugend & Familiengästehaus Hostel in Bad Aussee … I was in a single bedroom and so I don't know really how the dormitories are. My room was just fine: clean (including sheets and towel) and it had a TV. Breakfast is good and the place is quiet so it's really nice to just relax. The only thing is who must catch a taxi because it's a bit far from the train station if you bring a huge suitcase just as me.
HI - Graz - Jugend & Familiengästehaus Graz Hostel in Graz … Well, even though I had my worst night here it wasnt the hostel's fault. I had some very loud, inconsiderate neighbours who were shouting, laughing, singing, and even playing a guitar until past 1 in the morning. I complained and I think people like that should be banned from YHI hostels. But the dorm was lovely. Very clean and comfortable. They even made the bed for you which is nice if your bed making skills are as bad as mine. There are good signs along the way to help find the hostel. Breakfast is included.
HI - Graz - Jugend & Familiengästehaus Graz Hostel in Graz … I enjoyed my stay here. It is very central to the city. It was very clean and had a nice polite staff who spoke good English. I would go there again.
HI - Graz - Jugend & Familiengästehaus Graz Hostel in Graz … the best part of this hostel is that the beds are made for you, which is so nice after the good walk there from the train station. the centre of town is also a trek so there's actually not much around the hostel at all. this hostel is just like any other HI hostel in central europe -- it's clean; has nice bathrooms; good breakfast; no guest kitchen; and full of families and tour groups, which makes it kind of boring, but good enough.
HI - Schladming - Jugend & Familiengästehaus Hostel in Schladming … Worst place I have been in my entire life. I was looking forward to a fun school trip; however, when I arrived at this "hotel" it was absolutely disgusting. The accommodation was dirty and filthy and the sheets had definitely not been changed. All the beds were crammed into one space, making living conditions awkward. There was a half-eaten fluffy gummy bear stuck to my sheets. There were youths hanging around the hotel at night making me feel unsafe. The shared facilities were in need of a good cleaning and there was rarely toilet paper. The food was so awful I lived on junk for the whole week. Do not go here.
Hotel Erzherzog Johann in Bad Aussee … Had an excellent five-day stay, with a five-course vitality menu and Ayurveda massages. Excellent well-trained staff in reception and service. Charming hostess. I look forward to staying there again this year.
