HI - Salta - Salta - Backpacker's Soul Hostel in Salta … I really need to add my comment on this one. It's amazing, probably one of the best hostels I've seen in South America. Don't hesitate.
Corre Caminos Hostel - Salta in Salta … This is by far one of the best hostels I have stayed in on my travels. The staff are so accommodating and will do everything they can to make your stay more pleasant. Organise outings, football games against the locals, and nights out with the staff. There is no breakfast at this hostel but the lack of this is more than compensated by the staff and the friendly people staying here. oh and the pool table, swimming pool, kitchen, and great atmosphere all round.
Hostel Huayra Sanipy in Cafayate … This hostel was absolutely fantastic. I can't say enough about Vero y Robert. We ended up staying nearly a month with them and they made us feel so welcome. The breakfast is also great and with Sky TV you won't miss any football back in England! Cafayate is lovely, full of bodegas and the Cobrada. I highly recommend staying with Vero y Robert if you visit Cafayate.
Hostal Condor Pass in Salta … This is easily the best hostel that I stayed in while I was in Argentina. The host was superb, and allowed for privacy. The facility is probably the most technologically-advanced out of all of the hostels I used. Backpackers might be the big-name hostel, but this is the big-value one. Congratulations, Condor Pass, and thank you for everything.
La Morada Hostel in Salta … The hostel is just at the perfect location. You have everything right around the corner. They have a great team working there. It is clean and comfortable. It's a great hostel and a great city also.
Las Rejas Hostel in Salta … What a lovely hostel/hotel. The owners, Pilar and Ignacio, are really welcoming and do so much to make you feel at home in their hostel and Salta. The room rates are amazingly competitive, and the rooms are clean and tidy. It's one of our favourites in our whole three months in Argentina.

El Hospedaje Hostel in Cafayate … We enjoyed The patio in the middle, The very nice staff (Perez family), The good bedrooms, and very clean bathroom! The quiet and charming atmosphere. The place, nearby everything! But the most -- the delicious breakfast! The best we had in the whole journey! I can really recommend this place!
Hostal Prisamata in Salta … This hostel has an excellent staff! They are very energetic and know a lot about the surrounding areas. When I return to Salta someday there is no place like home....el estar!
Youth Hostel Terra Oculta in Salta … I've travelled through South America for six months and this hostel is one of my favorites! The crew is great, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is big, they clean every day! Just a great atmosphere, especially if you stay in the main building.
Hostel Internacional El Balcon in Cafayate … Very nice and warm place with friendly people!!! Always ready to help and give good information about Cafayate. Also, the free trip to a bodega is very interesting. You feel home after a few minutes and it's hard to leave. They were still rebuilding the place and that's the only reason why I didn't give 5 stars because I think it's gonna be even better in a few months!!!
The Cottage Hostel in Salta … I liked it here. It was nice and quiet. Good selection of movies.
