HI - Salta - Salta - Backpacker's Soul Hostel in Salta I stayed here for a week in January 2005 and it was the best choice I could have made. This hostel is owned by the same people who run Backpacker's Salta Hostel, which means that you can hang out there as much as you can and join the barbecues they hold twice a week. and when you've had enough of noise and laughter (and believe me, Backpacker's can get really noisy) and you feel like a good rest, all you have to do is walk three blocks to Backpacker's Soul and go to bed in its much quieter atmosphere. Perfect for me! Services ok, clean, good breakfast (not included but very cheap) and friendly staff. It doesn't have much of a social life though, which doesn't matter as you have as much of that as you want in the other Backpacker's Hostel.
HI - Salta - Salta - Backpacker's Soul Hostel in Salta I really need to add my comment on this one. It's amazing, probably one of the best hostels I've seen in South America. Don't hesitate.
Hostal Condor Pass in Salta Very very friendly place to stay! Laid back, accommodating, helpful guys who run the hostel and they have lots of knowledge about (and love for) the region. It's right in the middle of the downtown area but amazingly quiet inside. The water in the shower was always hot and the share kitchen is actually functional and inviting - the guys who run the place use it too which is always a good sign. Good size rooms, the toilets are share but there's three between the hostel's six rooms. This place is like staying in a really nice share house. Oh yeah, and there's a terrace and 5 computers for internet access... and it's secure - helped by Jenny the resident pooch (who is also friendly and laidback)... Thanks guys!
Las Rejas Hostel in Salta What a lovely hostel/hotel. The owners, Pilar and Ignacio, are really welcoming and do so much to make you feel at home in their hostel and Salta. The room rates are amazingly competitive, and the rooms are clean and tidy. It's one of our favourites in our whole three months in Argentina.
HI - Salta - Salta - Backpacker's Hostel in Salta This hostel is a home. It is so friendly, their recommendations of what to do in the area are helpful and you will have unforgettable days. In 3 months I came back almost every weekend....
Corre Caminos Hostel - Salta in Salta This is by far one of the best hostels I have stayed in on my travels. The staff are so accommodating and will do everything they can to make your stay more pleasant. Organise outings, football games against the locals, and nights out with the staff. There is no breakfast at this hostel but the lack of this is more than compensated by the staff and the friendly people staying here. oh and the pool table, swimming pool, kitchen, and great atmosphere all round.
Hostel Huayra Sanipy in Cafayate This hostel was absolutely fantastic. I can't say enough about Vero y Robert. We ended up staying nearly a month with them and they made us feel so welcome. The breakfast is also great and with Sky TV you won't miss any football back in England! Cafayate is lovely, full of bodegas and the Cobrada. I highly recommend staying with Vero y Robert if you visit Cafayate.
La Morada Hostel in Salta The hostel is just at the perfect location. You have everything right around the corner. They have a great team working there. It is clean and comfortable. It's a great hostel and a great city also.
HI - Salta - Salta - Backpacker's Hostel in Salta Here are the friendliest people on the Continent! For sure it's one of the best places I've stayed at in my life — and they even make barbecue every week for the guests. The only problem is that there are eight beds in a small room. But it's still nice.
La Morada Hostel in Salta Great hostel. It has a good location, very nice staff, and it's clean. A perfect place to stay.
Hostal Prisamata in Salta It feels like home from the first moment... plus breakfast and free Internet, but that's not important. They have the greatest people I have met in Argentina (and that's quite a lot!!!).
Hostal Prisamata in Salta This hostel has an excellent staff! They are very energetic and know a lot about the surrounding areas. When I return to Salta someday there is no place like home....el estar!
